Joshua Glover lived in Missouri. He worked as a slave for a white man named B.W. Garland.
One day he decided to run away. At one point, he hid in a friend's barn. There was a large reward if
someone found him and brought him back to Mr. Garland. His friend gave him away to the police
They came to the barn and, after a big fight, arrested Joshua. They put him in the Milwaukee jail.
Another man named Sherman Booth led a mob and broke Joshua out of jail, with the help of
a group of people who sailed boats to Milwaukee and helped out. He then safely proceeded
to Canada via The Underground Railroad.
