In 1847 hundreds of Africans were taken from their homes and were being taken to America to become slaves and they would become separated from their family one of the Africans name was Joshua Glover.
In 1850, New Years Day Joshua stood with children, Men and women about to be sold as slaves. There was a Deputy who said that he would make sure that the slaves would behave but the real reason he wanted to be there was to by one and so he bought Glover. Glover escaped in 1853 his owner let his 3 dogs out to get Joshua back. Joshua ran through the woods until he got to Wisconsin a free state he jumped over a fence to safety. He got a job for food and he lived with his friend.
In 1854 Joshua’s friend turned him in. The next day, Joshua was playing cards when someone pounded on the door and said “OPEN UP THE MILWAUKEE DEPUTY'S HERE FOR JOSHUA GLOVER’. Joshua tried going out the window but he was too late and the Deputy’s took him to Milwaukee jail but a group of people lead by Sherman Booth brook Joshua out. Joshua took the Underground Railroad and took a boat to Canada he got married and had children. He died on June 4, 1888. He had an exiting life.
